This extraordinary historical artifact is more than just a knife—it's a direct link to the golden age of American craftsmanship and a once-in-a-lifetime global event.

Crafted by Case during their revered "Tested XX" era (1920–1940), this commemorative pen knife was produced in honor of the Century of Progress International Exposition, held in Chicago from 1933 to 1934. Even more remarkably, it still bears the original Marshall Field & Company retail tag, confirming it was sold through one of the most iconic department stores in American history.

Founded in 1852, Marshall Field & Company was a Chicago retail institution, renowned for its luxury goods, impeccable customer service, and architectural grandeur. By the time of the 1933 World’s Fair, Field’s had become synonymous with style, refinement, and access to high-quality American-made products. A Marshall Field tag on a knife of this era is not just a point of sale—it’s a mark of premium provenance and cultural prestige.
