Vintage Kent Two-Blade Pocket Knife with Swirled Celluloid Handles – c.1940s–50s

$39.00

Shipping to United States: $5.95

This vintage Kent pocket knife is a striking example of mid-century American cutlery, featuring a rich swirl-patterned celluloid handle in warm, earthy tones. The bolsters are nickel silver, and both blades—one clip point and one pen—fold smoothly into a classic curved frame. “KENT / NEW YORK CITY” is stamped clearly on the tang.

🔸 Blades: Clip Point & Pen
🔸 Handle: Swirled caramel-colored celluloid with inlaid shield
🔸 Closed Length: Approx. 3.25 in
🔸 Action: Snug open and close, strong snap, light wear to blades consistent with age
🔸 Condition: Excellent overall with minor cosmetic wear; blades show some spotting but remain functional

Condition Note:
This knife is in excellent vintage condition. The handles are bright and intact with minimal signs of shrinkage or cracking. Both blades open and close smoothly with solid half-stops; the clip point blade has minor darkening and age spots typical for its era. There is no excessive play or looseness. Shield and bolsters are clean, and overall presentation is striking for a knife of this age.

Collector’s Note:
Kent knives were popular utility pieces manufactured in the early to mid-20th century, often as contract knives for large retailers like Woolworth’s. Though considered affordable in their day, many Kent knives were built to last with sturdy materials and charming designs. This particular example, with its marbled celluloid handles and clean lines, reflects a bygone era of American manufacturing where even budget tools carried unique character. A great addition for collectors seeking a snapshot of working-class America in the pocketknife world.

A beautifully preserved knife with great character—ideal for collectors or as a nostalgic EDC piece.
