This knife is in good vintage condition. Blade shows light patina and age-appropriate wear but opens and closes as it should. Lettering on both sides of the handle remains clear and bold. Some surface scuffs and handling marks throughout. A well-preserved example of mid-century promotional cutlery.

History Note:
The Cotton Belt Route was a prominent southern U.S. railway line that operated from the late 19th century through its absorption into the Southern Pacific system. Known for its customer-first slogan, “The Railroad of Courtesy,” it served the cotton-rich regions of Texas, Arkansas, and Missouri. These knives were often handed out by agents or at events as goodwill tokens—a classic blend of marketing, utility, and mid-century American industry.

Collector’s Note:
Small enough to fit on a keyring but rich in American railroad heritage, this knife is perfect for collectors of vintage promotional items, railroad memorabilia, or mid-century cutlery. A nostalgic piece that recalls a time when customer service was a selling point—and even the tools told a story.
