This vintage Remington UMC pocket knife dates to the mid-to-late 1930s, as indicated by the tang stamp used during the Pal Blade Company years (1933–1940). Featuring vibrant red swirl celluloid handles with nickel silver bolsters and a classic double-end pen knife configuration, this is a beautiful surviving example of pre-WWII American knife production.
The main spear-point blade and smaller pen blade both retain solid snap and show only moderate age-related wear. The handle’s celluloid scales are richly patterned and in great condition, with no cracks or chips—an uncommon trait for knives of this era. A nickel silver arrowhead shield completes the vintage aesthetic.

Historical Note:
Remington ceased all knife production in 1940, selling their cutlery division to Pal Blade Company. Pal continued to produce knives under the Remington brand using existing materials and tooling. This knife is one of the last authentic Remington-marked folders made before WWII, making it a treasured collectible tied to the end of an iconic American cutlery chapter.
Condition Note:
Blades show light patina and use-related marks but retain factory shape. Snap is strong and handles are excellent. Very light backspring aging.
Collector’s Note:
Remington folders from the Pal era are increasingly scarce, especially in vibrant and undamaged celluloid. A perfect addition for collectors of early American knives, or those chasing pre-war Remingtons.
