This classic vintage Scout knife was made by Imperial Cutlery during the mid-20th century, most likely in the 1950s or 60s. A staple of American outdoor culture, this model was commonly carried by Scouts, campers, and for everyday use. It features four essential blades/tools in a compact frame, with traditional jigged black synthetic handles and nickel silver bolsters.
This particular example includes:
Spear-point master blade
Can opener stamped "CAN OPENER"
Cap lifter/screwdriver combo
Leather punch/awl
Blades are tight and firm with and usable edges. The small blade has soft closing snap. The handles are in very good shape with no cracks or chips—just light scuffs from age and carry. Some patina, spotting, and pitting is present on the blades, consistent with age.

Imperial Cutlery, founded in Providence, Rhode Island, was a leading manufacturer of affordable American pocket knives for much of the 20th century. Their scout knives were designed to be dependable tools for both youth and working-class Americans. These knives helped establish the “camp knife” pattern as an essential part of outdoor gear throughout the 20th century.
Collector's Note:
Scout knives like this are a nostalgic throwback to childhood adventures and practical tools of postwar America. A wonderful gift for collectors of vintage outdoor gear, Boy Scout memorabilia, or American-made knives.
