Both blades open and close with strong snap, with no wobble. There is a small nick on the edge of the main blade that’s barely noticeable but worth noting (see photos). The blades show honest aging with surface wear appropriate to their age, but the overall condition remains solid, especially for a souvenir knife of this era. This knife ships wrapped in acid-free archival tissue to help preserve both the blade and handle during transit and storage.

Historical Note:
The 1933–34 Chicago World’s Fair, themed “A Century of Progress,” celebrated innovation and modernity during the Great Depression. This knife pays tribute to that spirit, with imagery of the Sky Ride—a towering aerial tram that wowed visitors—as well as the Electrical Group buildings that symbolized the dawning power of electricity. Knives like this were popular souvenirs sold by exhibitors and distributors such as N. Shure Co., reflecting American optimism and craftsmanship.

Collector’s Note:
This knife is not only a nostalgic piece of Americana, but also a great representation of early 20th-century marketing and pocket knife culture. Lightweight yet durable, it bridges the worlds of cutlery and exposition memorabilia in a very collectible format.
