This vintage Barlow-pattern folding knife from Camillus Cutlery Co. is a fine example of post-war American utility—sturdy, simple, and dressed with classic celluloid charm. With a spear and pen blade housed in a long nickel silver bolster stamped "BARLOW," this two-blade pocket knife harks back to the mid-20th century when the Barlow was the everyman’s knife—from farmers and factory workers to schoolboys and scouts.
The handles are grooved brown-orange celluloid with rich striations that evoke the warmth of aged amber or autumn foliage. Brass liners and steel pins hold it all together. The tang is clearly stamped Camillus New York USA on one blade, with the model number 51 on the other.
