This vintage Case XX 6265 SAB Folding Hunter is a bold and timeless piece from the golden years of American knife production—made between 1965 and 1969, as confirmed by the CASE XX USA tang stamp. Built with two hefty clip point blades, this large folder was designed for serious fieldwork, but its rugged beauty and age now place it squarely in collector territory.
The handles are jigged wood with a deep reddish-brown hue, well-preserved and fitted with nickel silver bolsters and brass liners. The classic oval Case shield is pinned in place on the mark side. Both blades open and close with firm snap and seat well in the frame. While some patina and sharpening marks are present, this knife remains solid, clean, and ready for display or use.

📜 Historical Note:
The Case 6265 SAB was a favorite of outdoorsmen during the mid-20th century. "SAB" refers to its spring action blade design—a robust, lockback-less system for heavy-duty use. During the 1960s, Case experimented with both bone and wood handles for large folders like this one, giving working-class users a handsome but practical cutting tool. Today, these USA-era folders are increasingly rare in the wild.
🧲 Collector’s Note:
A two-blade Folding Hunter with jigged wood handles from the 1965–69 period is a special find. The size, feel, and classic design make it a standout for collectors of vintage Case knives or early American field tools. A workhorse with history in every detail.
