This vintage 1976 Case XX Congress knife (pattern 64052) is a fine example of mid-20th century American knife craftsmanship. The Congress is a classic pattern prized for its versatility and symmetry, and this piece showcases Case’s attention to detail with four useful blades and rich jigged bone handle scales. The tang stamp reads CASE XX USA with four dots, dating the knife precisely to 1976.
The knife features a clip point, sheepsfoot, spear, and coping blade—all tight with excellent function. There is very minor side-to-side play on the coping blade, but otherwise the operation is perfect. Blades show some carbon speckling consistent with age, yet the jigged bone handles remain in excellent condition, with their deep, rich coloring and polished nickel silver bolsters completing the look.
At 3 1/2" closed, this is a practical carry size with a heritage worth preserving.
