This 2005 Case XX Tested 6220 SS Peanut is a beautifully preserved example of Case’s small-frame traditional folders—compact, classic, and dressed in the timeless warmth of Old Red Bone. With its slender clip point and pen blade pairing, the Peanut has long been favored as the perfect pocket companion: small enough for everyday carry, but capable enough for real work.
The Old Red Bone handles on this example glow with rich ruby and amber tones, accented by fine jigging that reflects Case’s vintage aesthetic. Nickel silver bolsters, brass liners, and the oval Case shield complete the look. This knife comes from the “Pocket Worn” era styling—where smoothness, warmth, and hand-friendly texture were part of the design philosophy.
This piece remains in mint to near-mint condition, showing little to no evidence of carry or handling. It includes its original themed box and warranty/survey paperwork.

📜 Historical Note:
The 6220 Peanut pattern traces back over a century, becoming one of Case’s most beloved small-pocket designs. During the early–mid 2000s, Case revived classic jigging and color styles—including Old Red Bone—to evoke the Tested and XX eras of mid-20th century American cutlery. Collectors often regard the 2000–2009 Old Red series as one of Case’s best modern tributes to their heritage, blending modern stainless steel with vintage styling.
🧲 Collector’s Note:
Old Red Bone continues to be one of Case’s most sought-after handle materials, and the Peanut pattern is a perennial collector favorite. A boxed, mint 2005 example with strong color and clean blades is a standout addition to any Case collection—especially for those tracking Peanut pattern years or Old Red Bone variations. Compact, charming, and highly collectible.
