This vintage Schrade LB5 “Smokey” Lockback is a handsome, American-made folder built during the era when Schrade’s Uncle Henry and Old Timer lines were known for rugged reliability and clean lock-up. This example comes complete with its original box, leather sheath, and factory paperwork—a full set that’s getting harder to find intact.
The LB5 features a stainless clip-point blade with a smooth, crisp lockback mechanism and Schrade’s classic woodgrain Delrin handles paired with nickel silver bolsters. The knife appears to have seen extremely light handling only; the only notable flaw is marring on one side of the front bolster, preventing it from grading as truly mint. Functionally, however, it’s excellent—snappy opening, tight lock-up, and no wobble.
At 3 3/4" closed, the LB5 is a compact but capable lockback suited equally for collectors, outdoorsmen, or those who appreciate vintage American pocketknives.

Historical Note
The LB series was introduced by Schrade during the golden age of American-made lockbacks—built for hunters, tradesmen, and outdoor users who needed a secure folding blade. The LB5 became a compact favorite, offering Schrade’s durable stainless steel and lockback reliability in a pocket-friendly size. Sets with their original box and paperwork represent the complete collectible package.
