Camillus 72Y Yellow Jacket Whittler Knife – 1990s USA – 3 Blade – Original Box

$85.00

Shipping to United States: $7.95

This Camillus 72Y “Yellow Jacket” whittler is a beautifully executed 1990s-era production knife that pays direct homage to Camillus’s classic mid-century Yellow Jacket patterns. While made later in the company’s history, it retains the traditional three-blade whittler configuration, bright yellow handles, and overall fit and finish that made the original post-war Yellow Jacket knives so enduringly popular.

Featuring a long clip-point master blade flanked by two smaller secondary blades, this knife opens and closes with crisp, confident snap throughout. The master blade retains its factory “Yello-Jaket” etch, and the tang is stamped Camillus New York U.S.A., placing production in the company’s later years while clearly drawing inspiration from earlier Camillus designs.

Adding to its appeal, this example comes with its original Camillus box and paperwork, a rare bonus that elevates it from a fine vintage knife to a true collector’s piece.

📜 Historical Note:

Camillus Cutlery Co. was one of America’s most prolific knife makers, supplying everything from everyday pocket knives to military contract blades throughout the 20th century. The Yellow Jacket line was designed to be easily visible, durable, and practical—qualities that made these knives popular with outdoorsmen, tradesmen, and hobbyists alike. The 72Y whittler pattern reflects a time when pocket knives were expected to perform fine work as well as everyday tasks.
