This 1989 Remington Trapper One (Model R1128) is a refined take on the classic Bullet Knife pattern, combining traditional American pocketknife design with rich, natural materials. Produced during Remington’s late-20th-century revival of their historic cutlery line, the Trapper One was intended as a premium everyday pattern with strong collector appeal.
This example features beautiful cocobolo wood handles, showcasing deep chocolate tones and subtle grain variation that give the knife warmth and character. The handles are paired with bright nickel silver bolsters, the iconic Remington bullet shield, and a well-balanced 4-1/2 inch closed length that sits squarely in classic Trapper territory. The result is a knife that feels equally at home in a collection or as a carefully preserved example of American production.

Historical Note
Remington’s Bullet Knife patterns draw inspiration from the company’s early cutlery production of the 1920s and 1930s. The Trapper One series, introduced decades later, reinterpreted those historic designs for modern collectors, offering traditional blade shapes and premium handle materials. The R1128, produced in 1989, reflects that balance of heritage styling and late-20th-century manufacturing quality.
Collector’s Note
Cocobolo-handled Remington Bullet Knives are especially desirable due to their natural beauty and limited production compared to synthetic variants. This Trapper One stands out for its size, condition, and classic presentation—making it an excellent addition to a Remington collection or a standout example for collectors who favor wood-handled traditional folders.
