$75.00

Shipping to United States: $7.95

This vintage Remington jack knife dates to the circa 1933–1940 period, identified by its straight-line “Remington” tang stamp, a marking commonly used on Remington’s more affordable working knives during the Great Depression years.

Measuring 3 3/8 inches closed, this is a compact, pocket-friendly jack that balances utility with classic American styling. It features dark jigged handle scales, nickel silver bolsters, and a simple shield, reflecting Remington’s focus on function-first design during this era.

The knife carries two blades: a primary clip point and a secondary pen blade. Both blades show honest age and patina, with visible blade loss from use, yet they retain much of their original profile and character.

The main blade has a very small amount of side-to-side wobble but opens and closes with strong, confident snap.

The pen blade also shows strong opening and closing snap.

Both blades exhibit patina and blade loss consistent with age and decades of use.

Handle scales remain intact and well-textured, with no major cracks observed.

Bolsters show light wear and softening from carry.

This knife ships wrapped in acid-free archival tissue to help preserve both the blade and handle during transit and storage.

Historical Note

During the 1930s, Remington expanded its pocketknife production to meet the needs of everyday Americans during the Depression. Knives bearing the straight-line Remington stamp were typically positioned as reliable, affordable tools—built to work, not to sit in a display case. These knives reflect a transitional period when quality craftsmanship was balanced against economic realities.

Collector’s Note

Straight-line stamp Remingtons are increasingly appreciated for their historical context and honest wear. This example stands out for its strong snap on both blades, compact size, and clear period-correct markings. It’s an excellent representation of a knife that was meant to be used—and survived to tell the story.
