This Camillus Granddaddy Barlow is an impressive example of American large-pattern pocket cutlery—bold in scale, clean in execution, and built for real work. Measuring a full 5 inches closed, this knife embodies the oversized Barlow tradition, offering substantial presence in hand while maintaining the classic simplicity that made the pattern a staple of American pockets.
The knife features rich jigged brown handles paired with polished steel bolsters and a long clip point blade that opens with strong, confident snap. Both blade and handles are exceptionally well preserved, showing a level of care that sets this example apart. The tang is clearly stamped “A.G.R. Co. CM-2 Ark. USA”, a marking associated with Camillus contract and distributor production, adding an extra layer of interest for collectors.
Included is the original “Grandaddy Barlow” leather sheath, which remains serviceable and intact. The reverse side does show handwritten markings from prior ownership, consistent with field use and age, and does not affect function.
