Shipping to United States: $7.95

This vintage Camillus jack knife dates to the immediate post–World War II era, a time when American cutlery companies were transitioning from wartime production back to civilian tools. Built with simple, durable materials and straightforward design, this knife reflects the practical working knives carried by generations of tradesmen, farmers, and outdoorsmen.

The knife features a classic two-blade jack configuration, with a larger clip blade and a smaller pen blade housed in smooth dark wood handles and capped with steel bolsters. The handles have aged beautifully, showing the deep character and patina that only decades of time can create.

While the blades show honest wear consistent with age and use, the knife remains a solid example of mid-century American pocket cutlery from one of the country’s most respected manufacturers.

Historical Note

Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the largest knife manufacturers in the United States during the 20th century. Founded in 1876 in Camillus, New York, the company produced millions of knives for both civilian and military use. During World War II, Camillus manufactured knives for the U.S. armed forces, including the famous Mark 2 fighting knife.

Following the war, the company resumed production of traditional pocket knives like this jack knife, which became everyday companions for American workers during the booming postwar years.

Collector’s Note

Vintage Camillus knives from the 1940s–1950s period are increasingly appreciated by collectors who value the rugged simplicity of American working knives. Even in well-used condition, examples like this serve as tangible reminders of a time when a pocket knife was an essential tool carried daily.
